"F" in customer/management support, i.e. NO Help! I have been an Act! user since v. 1. While performance, features and price has increased substantially, customer/management/technical support has decreased. To start I am a user that is not too (that) computer savvy.

I know have Act! 2009, v. 11, and have had a major Outlook 2007-Act! conflict. I spent a few 'hours' with Microsoft tech support because my Outlook crashes, closes unexpectedly. The only way to spot this crashing is by disabling the Act! address book. The $45 spent to get tech support from Act! proved to be an "F". I have written several emails to Act!, all of which have gone un-ACTnowledged. Any suggestions on how to get attention FROM UNRESPONSIVE ACT! MANAGEMENT?

    • Richard-

Sorry to hear of your woes. I'm not familiar witht eh $45 option you mentioned. Do you have a support plan with ACT!? Have you looked into working with a local ACT! consultant? I realize these might be more epxensive options, but may also ease some of the headaches.

I'm interested in purchasing the full version of ACT! Corporate Edition. I am not upgrading, so again, I need the full version. Do you offer this or only upgrades? And if you do sell it, where can I find the pricing information?

I was wondering thebest way to integrate ACT with my email accounts if I choose not to use Outlook or Eudora. I send from multiple email address within Gmail and cannot figure out a satisfactory integration with ACT. Any ideas would be much appreciated!

I am having trouble creating mailing labels. When I try to print labels the only address it uses in the company address. Most of my contacts do not have a company address so in turn I can't print a label.

    • Not a simple answer…. Sounds like a template issue. Do you have customizations to your database? You might try opening the demo database and print labels, if they work correctly you will need to alter your production database template to accommodate.

      Hope that helps.

I have been assigned to use ACT at my employment. I need to know how to create a report and export to an Excel spreadsheet for Companies and Contact. The instructional person is on vacation and she is the only person that would be able to instruct me.

I would like to merge the Compant information and Contact information onto one spreadsheet. Hope this makes sense. I need this instruction to complete my task in the morning. Thank you.

    • You might try running the various reports off the report menu, and see if one suits your needs until your colleague returns from vacation. They offer a preview option, so you can easily get an idea what the hard copy would look like.

Have you considered the contact list view? It has an export to excel function on the toolbar (if you have Excel), that is a speedy way to get a spreadsheet with data.

      Helpful?

Can anyone help me on how to set up my dialer so I can click on the phone number and have it dial out? I have an AT&T dsl line coming in with both interenet and phone on the line. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    • Tim

You might be able to get it done with ACT! (depending on your version). An alternative is to take a look a 3rd party dialer that works with ACT!. I have experience with http://www.actasap.net/tapi which is known for its tight integration with Skype.

Let us know how it goes!

We use ACT for our telemarketing actitivy (version 2009). Currently we have down loaded our data bese and are making phone calls from this list . Our recording of the calls is each call would be entered into Record History. Then we would schedule a date & time and this would be logedas a task function. As that date in the task function would come we open the tast feature that brings us back to the contact to continue the call process untill all the information we require is obtained. We find this record history step a little time consuming. Is there a better way for us to do this? We also use your reports of history, notes etc. to insure the telemarketors are actually doing their job and it appeared without recording history we have no way of getting correct reports.

One problem we also see is sometimes there are contacts not linked to companies. The company name appears witha black background. If you click on the company there is no response. How can we link this contact to the company?

    Thanks,

    Bob Foti

    • Bob-

Sounds like you are making good use of the program, and I can appreciate your desire to improve efficiency of its use. Have you looked at http://www.actasap.net/tapi ? that addon for act makes data entry easier for call intensive environments.

There should be a box with 3 dots next to the company field, select that, and then select the company to link it to the contact.
