ACT Platinum Care and ACT 2009 Software : Pay little, get a lot

It is really impressive to consider what Sage Software has done recently to win the loyalty of their customers and potential contact management or CRM customers.

They introduced a new program called ACT! Platinum Care which is introducing a subscription model to the ACT! software purchase. It is totally optional, and is different than how ACT! customers are used to purchasing the software.

The biggest value, is that ACT! Platinum Care customers always have the latest version of the software. This is important with all the new operating system patches being released, Sage has had to continue to develop the product to perform and satisfy customer requests, but in the process customers have got upgrade fatigue with each new annual release.

Secondarily is access to Sandler Sales Institute online broadcast portal for 1 year at no cost. This is full of continuing education for sales professionals, along with some other Sandler perks.

Third, you get access to their online members community where you can interact with other ACT! users and Business experts.

Lastly, there are exclusive benefits for members who need ACT! addon/enhancement products.

ACT! Platinum Care is a new initiative, and as such they are offering compelling pricing for folks who join before 9/30/2008. I’m also offering special bonuses to customers on my web store if you are interested.

I put together a 6min video that discusses all this, and how to claim the special pricing which ends Sept 30th. It is on the webstore, but I’ll include it here as well.

If you’d like access to the full review of the software, where I interview Dave van Toor Sage’s GM and VP of North America CRM. Have a look the Webinar LIVE-REPLAY I recently posted at http://www.WhatsNewWithACT.com If you are on the fence about the ACT! 2009 Software, this review was done with you in mind.

As always, feel free to leave your comments here on the blog.

ACT! Database Software: Reporting the Easy Way…

UPDATE: The webinar was recorded, to get priority access to the LIVE-REPLAY page, simply fill out the form below, and I’ll forward you all the details.

Let’s face it, if you attempt to do any customization of ACT! reports, it is tedious at best. Truly it is not the core strength of this contact management software. My friend Jason has a great idea how reporting should be. I talked with him on the phone recently, and asked questions about his product (video below).

What we’ll cover on this call:
o Why Contact Management Reporting is Important for Your Business (advantages)
o How Reporting Allows You to Get a Leg up on the competition
o Jason’s product, and a very special offer
o Chance to win a $100 Visa Debit Card

To be truthful, this product has saved my clients thousands in customization work. I’d like to introduce you to Jason, so have a look at the video, and sign up for the webinar by filling in the registration form below.

Webinar/Call Details:

Michael Gerber, E-Myth author says "You don't need an expert…"

Disclaimer: This was written with business owners in mind, I talk about ACT! later in this post…

In my quest to know if I had what it took to start and run my own business, one man told me he read a book that totally changed the way he ran his floor cleaning business. E-Myth by Michael Gerber…

After reading it years later, I fought some of the concepts he presented, but eventually realized I was operating as a ‘technician’. If you have read the book, you know what I mean. I began to thoroughly document all my key internal processes (which I later converted to videos, surprise surprise), and hired someone to do what I find mundane and inefficient.

I finally had the opportunity to meet Michael just last week, and he said many things which resonated so poiniently with me…let me share one here… (more…)

ACT Database synchronization…Is it Reliable?

I get emails from subscribers from time to time, and sometimes a theme will surface, so I take that as a hint and share it on the blog so that others might benefit from it.

This most recent inquiry arrived in two separate emails from subscribers yesterday, albeit the same question. Does database sync in ACT 2008 work?

For those that aren’t aware, database synchronization gives remote ACT users the ability to synchronize changes with the main database back in the office while they are in the field, or upon returning to the office. ACT 6 and older systems did sync, but it was often a pain to get setup properly for users. The newer versions can be configured to sync whenever there is an Internet connection detected. It can be as simple as a single user having a laptop and a desktop sync, or a 100+ user ACT system with a database on the internet available at all times to sync.

Back to the email… one user is using ACT 5 and emailing contact data to parties within the company.  This seemed curious, so I replied and asked him why, here was his reply: (more…)
