NOTE: Since the post, several comments have come in, prompting me to revise the FAQ, to help avoid wading through all the comments to get to your answer.  Hope that helps.  Want to comment?  Just s-c-r-o-l-l, or hit the [END] key on your keyboard to go to the bottom.  Ready to buy?  Go here.

Since the launch of ACT! 2009, I’ve had quite a few questions, so I though I would answer some of the more popular ones here, and hopefully dispel any confusion.  To be clear, there is reason for confusion, with the product names.  It is worth finding out what makes sense for you.  Please chime in below in the comments section if you need further clarification or questions answered.  For more information, you might check the ACT! 2009 Review Page at www.WhatsNewWithACT.com

Upgrading:
Q:
“I have ACT! version 5/2000 what will it cost me to upgrade to ACT! 2009 vs. someone who is upgrading from, say, ACT! 2006?” - Anonymous
A: The price is the same for you and everyone who wants the latest version.  There is one price for the upgrade, regardless of what you are upgrading from.  This makes is easier for everyone. Ready to buy?  Go here.
Tip: Many customers are using the current promotion to upgrade to Corporate Edition, because it now includes both ACT! for Windows, and ACT! for Web versions, at a very compelling price.
Q: “I’ve been an ACT user for years…After a couple of bad experiences installing later versions – including 10.0, I’d pretty much written off ACT.  But I haven’t found anything that suits be better, so I thought I’d look again.  What I was looking for from Sage was some acknowledgement of the problems over the past few years and a commitment to improve.  I didn’t get that, so I’m still suspicious.  Sage has blown their good graces with long-time customers.  Thoughts?” -Mike Pritchard Kirkland, WA (more…)

ACT! Database Software: Reporting the Easy Way…

UPDATE: The webinar was recorded, to get priority access to the LIVE-REPLAY page, simply fill out the form below, and I’ll forward you all the details.

Let’s face it, if you attempt to do any customization of ACT! reports, it is tedious at best. Truly it is not the core strength of this contact management software. My friend Jason has a great idea how reporting should be. I talked with him on the phone recently, and asked questions about his product (video below).

What we’ll cover on this call:
o Why Contact Management Reporting is Important for Your Business (advantages)
o How Reporting Allows You to Get a Leg up on the competition
o Jason’s product, and a very special offer
o Chance to win a $100 Visa Debit Card

To be truthful, this product has saved my clients thousands in customization work. I’d like to introduce you to Jason, so have a look at the video, and sign up for the webinar by filling in the registration form below.

Internet Search Acceleration Webinar

Attention Sales and Marketing Professionals (ACT! and non ACT! software users alike)
Date: Thursday June 26, 2008
Time: 3pm EST, 12pm PST
What: Internet Search Acceleration Webinar
Register Here

Are you someone who knows the value search engines can provide your business, but find using them laborious and time consuming? What if you could automate most of your Internet research so you could sell more?

Recently, I visited with a friend who shared with me some amazing Internet research software. I don’t get super-impressed with software (afterall it is just a tool), but for folks spending time doing market research online, this high-end software is worth a look. (register for webinar here)

I was hoping to put a video up here to show you the software in action, but I’d rather have Mike show you personally, so I’ve made special arrangement with Mike’s office to host a webinar with you in mind.

This world-class suite of products allows companies to reduce Internet research from hours to minutes, putting them in touch with qualified prospects in a fraction of the time. In this 1 hour webinar you’ll learn how you can arm yourself with tools your competitors haven’t seen.
-Stop cutting/pasting contact information into your database
-Find your niche, no matter how specific
-Work with existing lists and directories
-Build a contact list in moments
…and that is just the beginning.

Mike showed me how he extracted hundreds of contacts from a
series of websites for export to a contact database of choice
in less than 2 minutes. (register for webinar here)

The software automates the “grind” functions of Internet research, such as:
-Trolling through company/directory/portal websites to find names, phone numbers, email addresses and such.
-Using search engines to find disparate information on contacts and companies
-Clicking/copying/pasting or retyping pertinent information from the web, into a usable format. (excel, outlook, ACT!, crm, ats.)

If what I’ve described resonates with you, please carve out an hour to learn
more on this webinarThursday June 26, 2008 at 3pm EST, 12pm PST

-Travis
PS: I’ve arranged for a free gift
from Mike for those attending
this webinar. Register here.

Update: Sage Insights Conference, ACT Software User Questions for Sage Executives

As per the video, the comments on last weeks blog post were numerous…and very educational. I’ve summarized them but want to make sure I’m not missing anything.

Obviously I cannot discuss all the questions that came in, some of which I’ve already answered, so I plan to have a conversation in categories of interest derived from
the post comments.

So if there is anything missing from these items. Please post your questions in the comments section below.

Discussion Points:
> User Interface Items (Calendar, and Sync)
> Handheld Sync
> Email (Outlook and ACT! Email)
> Web 2.0 and Social Networking
> Poor Market Perception
> Integration (accounting, faxing, exchange)

Am I missing anything? The way for you to be heard, and for me to make the most of my time with Sage Executives, is to submit your comments and questions below…do it now as time is running out (interview should happen in the next day or so).

Also, if you haven’t done so, feel free to subscribe to the RSS feed of this blog, but clicking the subscribe buttons to the right.

Speak soon,
Travis
